Job Description
As a Pumpman in the Engine section, your primary responsibility is to operate and maintain various pumps and associated systems on board a vessel. You will work closely with the engineering team to ensure the proper functioning of pumps used for fuel, oil, water, and other fluids. 1. Pump Operation:
– Operate and control various pumps on board the vessel, including fuel pumps, oil pumps, ballast pumps, bilge pumps, and freshwater pumps.
– Monitor pump performance, including flow rates, pressure levels, and temperature, to ensure optimal operation.
– Adjust pump settings as required to maintain the desired flow and pressure.
– Monitor and control pump operation during loading, unloading, and transfer of fluids.
2. Maintenance and Inspection:
– Conduct routine inspections of pumps to check for any signs of wear, leaks, or malfunctions.
– Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, lubricating, and greasing pump components.
– Monitor and maintain proper pump alignment and coupling integrity.
– Conduct periodic tests and checks on pump safety devices and alarms.
– Carry out preventive maintenance tasks according to the vessel’s maintenance schedule.
3. Troubleshooting and Repairs:

Requirements:
