As a Deck Fitter in the Deck department of a cruise ship or vessel, your role is essential in ensuring the maintenance and repair of the deck equipment and structures. 1. Equipment Maintenance and Repair:
– Install, maintain, and repair deck equipment such as winches, cranes, davits, and anchor handling systems.
– Conduct regular inspections to identify any equipment malfunctions or defects and promptly initiate repair or replacement as required.
– Ensure proper functioning of deck machinery by conducting routine servicing, lubrication, and adjustment.

2. Structural Maintenance:
– Inspect and maintain the structural components of the deck, including handrails, ladders, platforms, and walkways.
– Carry out repairs to damaged or deteriorating deck structures, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
– Collaborate with the ship’s carpenters and other tradespeople as necessary for structural repairs or modifications.

3. Safety Compliance:
– Ensure that all deck fittings and equipment meet safety requirements and are in compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
– Collaborate with the Safety Officer and other team members to identify and rectify any safety hazards on the deck.
