1. Vessel Operations:
– Oversee the day-to-day operations of the vessels, ensuring compliance with maritime regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
– Coordinate vessel schedules, including port calls, loading and unloading of cargo, and crew changes.
– Monitor vessel performance, including fuel consumption, speed, and maintenance requirements.
– Collaborate with vessel captains and crew to ensure smooth operations and efficient utilization of resources.
– Coordinate with port authorities, customs officials, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

2. Budget and Cost Management:
– Develop and manage the budget for vessel operations, including expenses for fuel, maintenance, repairs, and crew salaries.
– Monitor and control costs to optimize operational efficiency and profitability.
– Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to reduce expenses without compromising safety or quality.
– Review and approve invoices and expense claims related to vessel operations.

3. Maintenance and Repairs:
– Coordinate and schedule routine maintenance and inspections for vessels, including mechanical, electrical, and structural components.
– Plan and coordinate dry-dockings and major repairs, ensuring minimal disruption to vessel operations.
– Liaise with maintenance teams, shipyards, and external contractors to ensure timely and quality completion of repairs and maintenance work.
– Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspection reports, and equipment inventories.

4. Regulatory Compliance:
– Stay updated with relevant maritime regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
– Ensure vessels comply with international maritime conventions, flag state regulations, and classification society requirements.
– Coordinate inspections and audits by regulatory bodies, ensuring timely completion of required certifications and documentation.
– Implement and enforce safety and environmental policies and procedures to mitigate risks and ensure compliance.

5. Crew Management:
– Collaborate with the Crewing department to ensure adequate staffing levels and appropriate crew qualifications for assigned vessels.
– Monitor crew performance, welfare, and training requirements.
– Coordinate crew changes, including travel arrangements, visas, and immigration requirements.
– Address crew-related issues, including disputes, disciplinary actions, and welfare concerns.

6. Stakeholder Management:
– Liaise with charterers, clients, agents, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and operational coordination.
– Respond to client inquiries, resolve operational issues, and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
– Collaborate with legal and insurance teams to manage contractual obligations, insurance claims, and risk mitigation strategies.

Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field.
– Previous experience in ship management, vessel operations, or a similar role.
– In-depth knowledge of maritime regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
– Familiarity with vessel maintenance and repair procedures.
