1. Technical Operations Management:
– Develop and implement strategies, policies, and procedures for the technical management of vessels or offshore installations.
– Coordinate with vessel owners, operators, and maintenance teams to plan and execute maintenance, repair, and dry-docking activities.
– Monitor and analyze vessel or offshore installation performance, including fuel consumption, machinery operation, and maintenance records.
– Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and class requirements.
– Develop and maintain technical documentation, including maintenance manuals, safety procedures, and incident reports.
– Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in vessel or offshore installation maintenance and operation.

2. Budgeting and Cost Control:
– Prepare and manage the technical department budget, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources.
– Monitor and control expenses related to maintenance, repairs, spare parts, and equipment procurement.
– Analyze cost trends, identify areas for improvement, and implement measures to optimize operational costs.
– Review and approve invoices, purchase orders, and contracts related to technical operations.

3. Team Leadership and Coordination:
– Lead and manage a team of technical staff, including engineers, technicians, and support personnel.
– Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure a high level of technical competence and performance.
– Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the technical department.

– Ensure compliance with all applicable maritime regulations, industry standards, and environmental requirements.

– Conduct risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate operational risks and hazards.
– Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
– Maintain up-to-date knowledge of international and local regulations governing maritime operations and implement necessary compliance measures.

5. Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
– Provide technical support to vessel crews or offshore installation personnel, addressing technical issues, breakdowns, and equipment failures.
– Collaborate with onboard or onsite personnel to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems in a timely manner.

Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related field. Additional certifications or qualifications may be preferred.
